What works on each platform

ReplyZen supports Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok, but each platform exposes a slightly different set of capabilities. This page is a quick reference so you know what to expect before you configure your agents or try a feature.

    TL;DR — the differences in 30 seconds

    • Facebook is the most fully featured: every reply, moderation, and automation feature works, and it's the only platform where appended links are clickable.
    • Instagram matches Facebook except for two things imposed by Meta's API: you can't like comments and you can't edit a reply after it's published.
    • TikTok is supported but is the most constrained: replies are capped at 150 characters, @mentions are stripped, you can hide other people's comments but not delete them, replies can't be edited after publishing, and DM automations are not available.
    • Links in replies only render as clickable on Facebook. Instagram and TikTok display URLs as plain text, which is why the Append Link feature is Facebook-only.
    • New comments arrive instantly on Facebook and Instagram, and within a few minutes on TikTok.
    • Auto-hide comments with attachments is Facebook-only. Auto-like high-quality comments works on Facebook and TikTok (not Instagram, which doesn't allow liking).

    The full breakdown follows.

    Frequently noticed differences

"My TikTok reply got cut off." TikTok caps replies at 150 characters including emoji. ReplyZen's reply editor shows a live counter so you can rewrite before publishing.

"I tried to @mention someone in a TikTok reply and it disappeared." TikTok doesn't let third-party apps add mentions to replies, so they're stripped. Facebook and Instagram both support mentions.

"Why can't I like an Instagram comment?" Instagram doesn't offer a way for third-party tools to like comments. Facebook and TikTok do.

"My link in a TikTok reply isn't clickable." Instagram and TikTok display URLs as plain text — only Facebook renders them as clickable links. That's why ReplyZen's Append Link feature is Facebook-only. You can still mention a URL in a TikTok or Instagram reply, but users will have to copy and paste it.

"How accurate is TikTok's Ads vs Organic split?" ReplyZen separates TikTok ads and organic posts when it can, but TikTok doesn't expose a single reliable ad flag. The split is best effort, so some posts may remain unclassified or land in the wrong bucket.

"When will TikTok comments arrive in my inbox?" Usually within a few minutes — noticeably slower than Facebook and Instagram, which deliver them instantly. This is TikTok's platform behavior and the same everywhere.
